Who we are
NannyNest [TO FILL IN: legal form, Chamber of Commerce number, registered address] acts as an intermediary between parents looking for a babysitter and screened nannies in Amsterdam. NannyNest is the data controller for personal data collected via nannynest.nl. Privacy questions: hallo@nannynest.nl.
What data we process
From parents on the waitlist: name, email address, neighbourhood or postcode, number of children and their ages, how often you need a sitter and any notes you add yourself.
From nannies who apply: name, email address, phone number, city, experience, availability and whether you already hold a VOG and paediatric first-aid certificate. During screening we additionally view your ID document (we keep no copy), your VOG, your first-aid certificate and the contact details and outcomes of references.
From anyone using the contact form: name, email address and the content of your message.
Technical: the time of submission and a hashed IP address to prevent abuse of our forms. Hashing happens immediately; we store no readable IP address.
Children's data
We only ask for your children's ages and, once you actually book a sitter, the first name and specifics a nanny needs to look after your child well (for example allergies or a bedtime routine). You share that data yourself and you decide what to share.
We use data about children solely to arrange the babysitting. We share it only with the nanny who comes to you, never with advertisers or other third parties, and we don't use it for marketing or profiling. We delete it as soon as it is no longer needed for the service.
Purposes and legal bases
Waitlist and application: to contact you about the launch and, for nannies, to start the screening. Legal basis: your consent (given via the checkbox on the form) and, once we enter into an agreement, the performance of that agreement.
Screening of nannies: to keep our promise to parents and meet our duty of care. Legal basis: performance of the agreement with the nanny and our legitimate interest in a safe platform. Of the VOG we only record whether it was issued and the date, not its content.
Contact form: to answer your question. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
Security and abuse prevention: legitimate interest.
How long we keep data
Waitlist data: until you unsubscribe, or at most 12 months after launch in your area if we haven't been in touch.
Nanny applications that don't lead to a collaboration: at most 4 weeks after rejection, unless you ask us to keep your details longer for a future opportunity.
Contact messages: at most 12 months.
Data we must keep by law (for example invoices): 7 years.
Who we share data with
We use a limited number of processors that store or send data on our behalf: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database, EU region) and Resend (email). We have a data processing agreement with each of them. [TO FILL IN: confirm regions]
We don't sell data and share nothing with advertisers. If we process data outside the European Economic Area, we only do so under appropriate safeguards (such as the EU standard contractual clauses).
Cookies and statistics
nannynest.nl uses functional cookies only, for example to remember your cookie preference. Visitor statistics (Vercel Analytics) are loaded only after you give consent in the banner. Those statistics are anonymised and don't follow you across other websites. You can change your choice at any time via the link at the bottom of the page.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. You can withdraw consent at any time. Email hallo@nannynest.nl; we respond within a month. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), database access is limited to the NannyNest team and forms are protected against automated abuse. Suspect a data breach? Email hallo@nannynest.nl right away.
Changes
We update this statement when our service changes, for example at the launch of the booking app. The date at the top shows when that last happened. [TO FILL IN: lawyer to review this statement]
