What does a babysitter through NannyNest cost?
From €24 per hour, all included: the nanny, the screening, the insurance and the payment. Short-notice requests (within 24 hours) and late evenings cost a little more. There's no subscription and no booking fee. See the full rates on the parents page.
How fast can a nanny be there?
For short-notice requests in Amsterdam we start right away and confirm within [TO FILL IN: e.g. 60 minutes] whether it works. The earlier you ask, the better the chance of your preferred nanny.
What does NannyNest-screened mean?
That the nanny has passed all six of our checks: a VOG with the childcare profile, at least 18 years old, two references we called ourselves, a valid paediatric first-aid certificate, an ID check and a personal video interview.
Can I choose a nanny myself?
You don't have to choose, that's the point. You get one confirmed match with name, photo and screening badges. If it doesn't fit, we arrange someone else. After a good experience you can request the same nanny again.
What if the nanny gets sick or cancels?
Then we find a replacement. If that doesn't work out, you pay nothing of course. You never have to call anyone yourself.
How does payment work?
After the job you receive an overview of the hours and pay online via iDEAL or credit card. NannyNest pays the nanny. No cash, no fuss.
Can I cancel?
Free of charge up to 24 hours in advance. After that we charge [TO FILL IN: e.g. the 3-hour minimum booking], because the nanny kept her time free for you.
Is the babysitter insured?
Yes. Every booking through NannyNest is covered by our liability insurance for damage during the job. [TO FILL IN: insurer and coverage]
Am I the nanny's employer?
You're the client under the Dutch home services scheme ('Regeling dienstverlening aan huis'). It's a light regime specifically for help at home: no payroll, no employer contributions. NannyNest handles matching and payment. [TO FILL IN: lawyer to review]
Which neighbourhoods do you cover?

Do the nannies speak English?
Many do. Let us know in your request if you'd like an English-speaking nanny and we'll take it into account.
How do you handle my children's data?
Carefully. We only ask for what the nanny needs (first name, age, specifics such as allergies) and share it only with the nanny who comes to you. Read our privacy statement for the details.
